Traffic diversion plan for Muharram procession in Jauhar announced
The Karachi Traffic Police on Thursday issued a traffic diversion plan for the 12th Muharram procession that will be taken out in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Friday.
Officials said that on Friday, a mourning procession will be staged from an Imambargah in Block 14 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Rashid Minhas Traffic Section via Rado Bakery, Jauhar Chowrangi and Perfume Square. It will end at Imambargah Akhri-uz-Zaman in Block 19.
Both tracks from Jauhar Morr to Kamran Chowrangi and the upcoming road will be closed due to the procession from 5pm to 4:30am.
The traffic going from Aladdin Park to Jauhar Chowrangi will be diverted back to NIPA from Jauhar Morr’s Chippa “U” Turn. The traffic going from Jauhar Morr to Jauhar Chowrangi will be diverted from Aladdin u-turn via Lal flats and Jauhar Chowrangi via Rashid Minhas Road.
Officials said there will be a severe traffic pressure due to closure of roads, which includes the NIPA bridge on Rashid Minhas Road towards Drig Road, the Millennium Mall towards the stadium on Dalmia Road and Rashid Minhas Road-COD in front of Askari 4 towards the Jauhar bridge, as the Jauhar Morr to Jauhar Chowrangi Road will be closed.
They added that the heavy traffic will not be allowed on Rashid Minhas Road and additional traffic police personnel will be available to maintain the flow of traffic. The public is requested to take a different route to avoid trouble.
