Local businessman discusses business opportunities with British MP

Islamabad: Newly elected British Parliamentarian Adnan Hussain and former President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari discussed at length the prevailing situation in Pakistan, prospects for its progress and the terrorism monster which is badly affecting the country especially businesses and investments.

Both the business leaders discussed these issues at a meeting held in London, said a press release issued here on Saturday. Newly elected British Parliamentarian Adnan Hussain has said that Pakistan is a beautiful country and has a lot of potential but it has not sufficient business and investment opportunities.

He said that he hails from Kharian and used to visit Pakistan for the philanthropy work and that he is proud to represent not just Blackburn but also the Pakistani community, adding that he is a Solicitor by profession.

Elected from Blackburn as an independent candidate in the recently held elections Adnan Hussain termed the election as a significant milestone in which 25 Muslims were elected to the House of Commons up from 19 in 2019. Among those 18 are from the Labour, four independents, two from the Conservative party and one from the Liberal Democrats. He said that Pakistan enjoys immense potential and can become a leader just like India, adding that it also enjoys a strategic location with immense opportunities, but their proper utilization is need of the hour.

He further said that terrorism is badly destabilizing Pakistan and its economy but there is always a solution of every problem, and we can find solution of this problem also by eliminating its root causes. On the Palestine issue, he said that the future of Palestine must be decided by its people, by the stakeholders on ground and that the Palestinians have the right to return to their homes.

On his part former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG congratulated the newly elected MP by saying that his and other Pakistan origin candidates success is a matter of pride for the entire Pakistani nation. Zafar Bakhtawari apprised him that entire Pakistani nation is determined to overcome the situation steadfastly to put the country on road to progress.
