AJK president, PM express grief over tragic death of Iranian president
ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and Prime Minister Chaudhary Anwar ul Haq have expressed their profound grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, foreign minister and others who lost their lives in a helicopter crash.
Terming the demise of Iranian president as a great loss, the duo said that Raisi’s death was a huge loss not only for Iran but for the entire Muslim world. “With his demise, the Muslim Ummah lost a great leader and thinker”, they said, adding that the Iranian president would be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his efforts to unite the Muslim Ummah and address the issues confronted by the Islamic world.
Expressing their heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people they stated that Kashmiri people mourn the death of a great friend and a true sympathizer. The AJK president and prime minister prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and raise their status in Janat-ul-firdous.
Meanwhile, the AJK premier, while announcing one-day of national mourning, stated that the AJK flag will fly at half-mast as a mark of respect for President Raisi and his companions and in solidarity with the bereaved people of Iran.
