Sindh Minister for Prisons Ali Hassan Zardari has refused to avail government benefits, including an official car and petrol, in view of the country's economic situation.
Officials said on Wednesday that Zardari had decided he would not accept government benefits. He was said to have written a letter to the chief secretary and also sent a copy of the letter to the chief minister in this regard.
The provincial minister has announced he will return a fuel card for 600 litres received as part of the monthly pay. After becoming minister, he has also returned the 2700 cc Fortuner vehicle to the relevant department. Zardari said he would not take concessions until the country's situation improved.
