Case registered as woman dies after falling off roof
LAHORE: A murder case was registered against an accused person over the death of a woman after falling of 13th floor of a shopping mall on complaint of her son.
Reportedly, a 38-year-old woman Haleema died after falling of the 13th floor. A suspect identified as Hammad Zawar, reportedly her friend, was also with her. Initial investigations suggested that the victim claimed her life by jumping of the building and Hammad had tried to save her life. However, Haleema's son Anees Ashfaq got registered a murder case. He said that his mother left Cavalry Ground house in a car and intimated him on phone that she was visiting the shopping mall with Hammad. However, at night, he received a Whatsapp call about presence of her body at the Mall. He said that Hammad was nearby the body. He also had booked a room there.
12 die in road accidents in 24 hours
Around 12 people died, whereas 1,260 were injured in 1,201 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 609 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 651 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Suspect arrested for selling kites online
Ravi Road police arrested a suspect for selling kites online. The Punjab government has imposed a ban on kite flying and selling. The suspect identified as Abid would advertise the kites online and would also book order. As the matter came into the notice of Ravi Road police, they arrested him and also recovered heavy cache of kites from his custody. A case has been registered against him.
Three thieves heldThree suspects were arrested for stealing electric wires worth Rs3 million from a neighbouring shop in the Kot Lakhpat area.
ASP Model Town Rizwana Malik said that the suspect Bilal worked on an electric shop. Three days back, a truck arrived to unload the material in their shop. After his employer's work, he along with his accomplices Khurram and Hassan stole wires bundles worth over Rs3 million from nearby shop, loaded in the truck and went away. A case was registered. Kot Lakhpat Police arrested them.
Man hit to death
A 52-year-old man died in a road accident on Raiwind Road. The victim identified as Altaf was riding a rickshaw and going somewhere. Suddenly, a three-wheeler collided with a speeding truck. As a result, the vehicle was severely damaged and the rider received serious injuries. He was shifted to hospital where he died. His body was moved to morgue.
