HRCP condemns assassination of independent candidate in Bajaur

LAHORE: HRCP strongly condemns the assassination of independent political candidate, Rehan Zeb, who was shot dead by unknown assailants in Bajaur on Wednesday in what is being reported as a targeted killing. Zeb was affiliated with the PTI and was also an HRCP member. As the general elections draw nearer, HRCP is increasingly alarmed by the escalation in violence that has targeted the PTI in Sibi, the PPP in Quetta and the NDM in North Waziristan in January alone. Both the ECP and caretaker government must take notice of the situation and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and held to account.
