IGP gives houses keys to families of martyred cops

LAHORE : The IGP police Wednesday gave keys of houses to family members of two cops who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.

The IGP met family members of ASI Asim Ali and Constable Muhammad Irfan at his office and gave keys of 9-marla house to family members of of ASI Asim Ali Shaheed. The house location was decided by their choice in Tehsil Shahkot district Nankana and the family of Constable Muhammad Irfan has been provided with a house in Kot Radha Kishan, Kasur as per their choice. ASI Asim Ali embraced martyred in 2022 and Constable Muhammad Irfan in 2023. The Punjab government has also released funds for the homes. The IGP assured all possible support to the families of the martyrs during the meeting. Separately, the IGP met a delegation of hearing and speech impaired special persons at the Central Police Office. The special persons requested the IGP to issue them driving licences. The IGP directed the SSP Traffic Punjab to take instructions from the Punjab government regarding the driving licences for such special persons.

Video on CM’s steps for police welfare

The Punjab Police Wednesday lauded measures taken by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi for transforming the police force and introducing modern reforms and welfare measures. In a video the CM’s efforts which he made during one year such as transferring of police stations to Special Initiative Protocol, building of smart police stations, cops promotions, their regularisation, creation of posts of DIG Organised Crime Unit and DIG Admin Lahore, refresher courses, medals to police martyrs, residences for cops and other measures for the police force were appreciated.
