Health sector improves: governor

LAHORE : Federal Health Minister Nadeem Jan called on Governor Balighur Rehman at Governor’s House here. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held about the measures taken in health sector.

Governor lauded the services rendered by federal health minister and gave suggestions for reforming the system in view of misuse of health card in the past. He stressed the importance of alternative medicine. Balighur Rehman said that health sector was continuously improving due to the measures taken by the government.

He said that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) should also pay special attention to the cleanliness of campuses, washrooms of medical colleges, hospitals, and student hostels. Nadeem Jan said that revolutionary measures were being taken in the health sector along with the policy of producing the basic ingredients of medicines at the local level in Pakistan.

Later, governor presided over the 19th Convocation of Lahore College for Women University. Speaking on this occasion, governor said that education provides opportunities to get a job, but the real success is one’s character that guarantees success in life and hereafter. Around 4,744 degrees were conferred during the two sessions at the inauguration of convocation. It included 77 PhD, 818 MS/MPhil, and 2,220 undergraduate programmes such as BS, BBA, BCom, BEB. Architecture, BS Computer Science., BFA, and Doctor of Pharmacy.
