ISLAMABAD: Founder Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has summoned senior party leader Sher Afzal Marwat to Islamabad and asked him to immediately stop his political activities in Sindh.
Marwat has been in the media reports after his bizarre encounter involving a senator, belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, in a private television talk show a few months back.
He was made senior vice president of the party immediately after that incident, which had gone viral on social media as well and was widely discussed in talk shows and mentioned in comments.
According to a two-line statement issued by the PTI Central Media Department, founder chairman Imran Khan has asked Marwat to immediately suspend his political activities in Sindh. It added the senior party leader has been summoned by Imran to Islamabad.
Marwat had recently slammed senior leaders, including Hamid Khan and Raoof Hasan. A day earlier, he announced to call off his party’s election campaign and hours later, said he would continue electioneering amid conflicting statements from senior PTI leaders.
