8 DRAP officials not facing FIA probe
Islamabad : With reference to a report - FIA lodges FIR against former DRAP CEO in corruption scandal - published by The News on November 24, 2023, it is clarified the report erroneously mentioned the names of several other officials of DRAP, including Asim Rauf, Obaidullah, Ajmal Sohail, Fakhruddin Amer, Sayyad Hussain, Aamer Latif, Bilal bin Akbar and Aslam Afghani.
The FIR accused former CEO of DRAP, Shaikh Akhtar Hussain, blaming him for using a fake PhD degree for his employment.
The report had erroneously stated that the FIR extends beyond Sh. Akhtar Hussain, implicating several other officials of DRAP, named above, in alleged money laundering and tax evasion amounting to billions. Action is being taken against responsible persons.
