Imran-Bushra nikah case adjourned till Jan 2
ISLAMABAD: A local court expressed concern on Friday over the absence of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in the ongoing Nikkah case.
Senior Civil Judge Qudrat Ullah was hearing the case.
Usman Gul, the counsel for Bushra Bibi, appeared before the court and argued that she was sent to jail because the court had previously ordered a jail trial. He also informed the court that she had security threats on her way to court, so she was sent to jail for the hearing of the case.
However, the judge remarked that she should have appeared before the court. The court directed the counsel to present her before the court and put off further hearings until her appearance.
Later, the counsel filed a plea and sought a one-day exemption from appearing before the court. The court allowed his plea and adjourned the case until January 2, 2024.
