NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) Chairman Pervez Khattak on Wednesday said that his party would field candidates in all the constituencies for the general election slated for February 8.

Addressing a gathering at Taru Jabba village in Nowshera district, he said that his party would actively participate in the upcoming general election.

PTIP leader and candidate for NA-34 Dr Imran Khattak, Tehsil Nazim Ishaq Khattak and other party leaders were also present on the occasion. Several political workers announced joining the Pervez Khattak-led party. A large number of people belonging to other political parties announced to join the PTIP on the occasion.

Pervez Khattak said that his party would come up to the expectations of the people, adding that the people, who had joined the PTIP, believed in serving the masses. He said that the mainstream political parties did not serve the people after reaching the corridors of power and often reneged on their pledges made with the have-nots.

Criticising Maulana Fazlur Rahman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, he claimed that the head of the JUIF would lose his seats in his hometown Dera Ismail Khan. He also came down hard on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) incarcerated leader and former prime minister Imran Khan, accusing him of hoodwinking the people in the name of change. “After coming into power, Imran Khan forgot about the pledges he had made with the people and that was the main reason his colleagues parted ways with him,” he added. He maintained that Imran Khan was no longer relevant. “Imran Khan’s era has ended,” he said, adding, his party would work for the development of the province.

Khattak said that they would establish working relationships with other political parties. “We will promote tolerance in politics,” he added.
