PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami head Sirajul Haq on Friday asked the rulers of Muslims countries to declare war on Israel for its brutalities in Gaza.

“The Muslim rulers should wake up. If Israel is not stopped here and they occupy Palestine, they would launch offensives against other neighbouring countries,” he said, while delivering a Friday sermon here.

The JI chief said that the US Congress approved $14.5 billion for Israel, which was tantamount to issuance of the license to massacre innocent people. He said that history was full of US atrocities against humanity. “It is responsible for the killing of millions of people in Japan, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan,” he added.

He said that the entire Ummah was passing through testing times and they were looking at their rulers. “A month has passed since the carpet bombing in which thousands of innocent people including women and children have been killed,” he said, adding, Israel had paid no heed to the UN resolutions and OIC’s appeals.

In such a situation, he said, the OIC should immediately convene a meeting of the heads of its member states and work out a concrete strategy to stop Israel’s brutalities.

Sirajul Haq also expressed concerns over the ill-planned evacuation of illegal Afghan nationals and urged the governments of both the countries to sit together and find an honourable solution to the issue.

He said that a joint commission should be constituted by both the countries to deal with the matter in an appropriate manner. The JI chief welcomed the Election Commission Pakistan’s announcement to hold elections on February 8, 2024. The code of conduct for election should now be implemented properly and effectively, he added.

He further said that the political forces, which have been successively ruling the country, have been exposed. “They don’t have any solution for the problems faced by the nation,” he maintained.

The ruling elite imposed unbearable price-hike on the people and owing to their flawed policies, the country was trapped into the clutches of the IMF. He urged the people to repose trust in JI to make the country an Islamic welfare state and rid it from the menace of corruption.
