Model turned actor Bisha Abbas entered the fashion industry with her debut shoot with designer Nauman Arfeen and since then became a prolific model. Although she was a student of law at that time, but she was sure enough that her academic pursuits would not alter the course of her successful modelling career. She had since appeared on numerous coveted ramps such as Fashion Pakistan Week 2019, Toni&Guy, L’Oreal Couture Week to name a few. Much accolades came her way when she became the proud recipient of the International Pakistan Prestige Award (IPPA 2019) held in Norway for the Best Emerging Talent. Bisha has gone on to work with big names like Warda Saleem, Kamiar Rokni, Maheen Kareem, Sonya Batla, Umar Sayeed, Faraz Manan, Deepak Perwani, HSY, Nikkie Nina, Tabbassum Mughal, Ambreen Farrukh, Mifrah, Khas and more.

She recently stepped into the world of acting with a telefilm ‘Anjam-e-Wafa’. Bisha is now gearing up to star in a web-series soon and she believes it will be a treat for her fans. This week You! talks to the stunning model and actor and gets to know some of her beauty secrets…

How old were you, when you started doing your makeup?

My parents were strict about makeup so I didn’t develop an interest at the time. I started using makeup when I joined showbiz.

What does your everyday makeup look?

I just use concealer to hide dark circles around my eyes.

When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?

I take care of my skin and refrain from using makeup all the time; but I don’t go out without lipstick.

Do you use sunblocks or any serums when you go to shoots?

I avoid using harsh products on my skin. I usually apply Vaseline as it gives me a smooth skin.

Any tips for school and university going girls to deal with summers?

Make sure you are drinking sufficient water, eating seasonal fruits, and exercising.

Your most favourite perfume?

Tom Ford.

Your favourite brands in Cosmetics?

Maybelline and M.A.C.

Do you use lighter tones of foundations or warm tones?

I go for lighter tones.

What are your favourite brands in lipsticks?

Rimmel and Maybelline.

Hair gets damaged after straightening and blow drying. How do you manage?

I feel blessed to have naturally good hair and for its care, I go for organic products mostly.

And what do you do to keep your hair healthy?

Oiling with mustard and olive oil.

What is your take on natural makeup or zero makeup?

Zero makeup.

Advice for women who can’t buy expensive brands but still want to look good

They can buy normal brands which are less expensive like Medora, which I found to be equally good.

One thing you can’t give up that keeps you healthy and fit?

My love for sports and my diet.

When it comes to cosmetics, which brand do you usually use?

Maybelline.

What’s in your beauty bag?

Comb and concealer.

When applying makeup, what do you fear the most?

Getting acne.

Do you go to salon regularly for your facials?

I get a facial once in three or four months.

Nabila.

Your favourite international stylist:

There are few in Dubai.

Your go-to place for hair and makeup?

I have my own makeup artist so I normally don’t go out for makeup.

Your beauty regimen?

Being natural, staying fit and eating less but pure, organic and healthy.

Do you use anti-aging creams?

No, I don’t. I think I have to wait many years to even think about those.

Where do you go for your makeup shopping?

Dubai Mall.

Do you use whitening creams?

No, I don’t as I hold firm belief that chemicals do not benefit anybody. You should take care of your skin with natural products.

What does the word beauty mean to you?

Beauty for me is being confident and being yourself.
