Ho Mann Jahaan’s soundtrack is making waves in the music industry, not only for bringing big names like Atif Aslam, Zeb Bangash, Zoheb Hassan, Tina Sani and Mai Dhai, together on one platform but also for being unlike run-of-the-mill, Bollywood-inspired music that’s become the focus of our films.

Atif Aslam’s, ‘Dil Kare’, which released online, late Friday night, is one such unconventional track – unconventional because it’s a far cry from Atif’s recent, mellow outings in B-town and sees the talented singer return to what he does best – a mix of love and misery packed together melodiously.

The song, that aptly discovers the picturesque and exotic mountains of Chitral in its visuals, is a sure shot winner because a) our audiences have an unexplainable love affair with melancholic songs and b) Atif’s vocals are warm, powerful and right on point in urging one to punch the air or perhaps, even shed a tear or two with a huge sigh like Mahira Khan in her room or Sheheryar Munawar, biking around what seems to be an emotional terrain. In short, it’s relatable, whatever your situation, as long as it’s to do with some sort of misery. Thankfully, it is not only the poignant lyrics that make the song a must-listen but also the melodious musical arrangement.
