Gorgeous Italy draws travellers keen on exploring her stunning scenery, unique culture, and gastronomical delights. With its rich cuisine, this beautiful Mediterranean land offers countless famous and traditional must-eat foods. A multitude of popular Italian delicacies and dishes - sweet and savoury - are deeply rooted in the Italian culture, and recipes are often passed down between generations and are cherished for their authentic origins.

Italian food is more than just pizza and spaghetti. There’s a wide range of ingredients and flavours that makes this cuisine so special. From regional specialties to the finest seasonal delicacies, you would need multiple lifetimes to sample all the best Italian food, and that’s before you even consider dessert and drinks.

Recently, Avari Towers in Karachi hosted the Italian Food Festival in connection with 73rd anniversary celebrations of Italy in collaboration with Italian Consulate. On the day of celebration, Chef Giacomo Gallina himself welcomed the distinguished guests including the Italian Consul General, at Asia Live

The 10-day long food festival featured authentic Italian dishes with special recipes from Chef Giacomo Gallina. The menu was specially designed and ranged from assorted Italian bread basket, hot and cold appetisers like Fesa di Tacchino, Beef Fillet Carpaccio, Gran Tagiere, Babby Octopus Puttanesca, Panzanella salad, Arancini di riso, Vitello Tonato. The festival also served two types of soups; Minestrone Soup and Creamy Pumpkin Soup whereas few of the main courses included Chicken Picatta, Saltin Bocca, Straccetti di Manzo Olive Pomodori e Capperi, Tuna steak with pesto sauce; and of course there were pizzas, pastas too. There was also a separate counter for Italian and International Cheese with nuts and water biscuits.

This extensive buffet also had a dessert - the perfect way to end the meal. Dessert bar had the most tempting Italian delicacies which included Tiramisu al Bicciere, Pana cotta, Sabayon, Cannelloni with white chocolate mousse and a lot more.

One of the best ways to get the true taste of these amazing dishes is directly from local home chefs, who are passionate about cooking and sharing a slice of their culture with you. But, at this festival, the guests got to experience the most authentic Italian cuisine right here in Pakistan. It provided an opportunity for all foodies to explore this rich cuisine in a lovely ambiance.
