It is true that one needs good skin to appear beautiful. But it is makeup that helps in enhancing your features. There’s no way we can attain those bright red lips, smokey eyes, contoured face without the help of cosmetics. Women love to wear makeup because it gives them the power to express their own style, experiment with their looks and look beautiful. Hence, women keep on trying different cosmetic brands.

We have many international cosmetic companies that stock their makeup products in the market. And then we have our own cosmetic brands that are made according to the Asian skin type and of course offer some amazing products.

It was in the year 2004 that a makeup brand was launched by a famous television artist. Yes, we are talking about Atiqa Odho and her cosmetic range. “I decided to launch my brand because a few years ago lip colours were available only in shades of browns and reds. And when I used to ask the shopkeepers they would say women over here prefer such shades. So, I thought why not offer our women a range of pink and orange hues - be it lipsticks or eye shadows,” shared Atiqa.

Recently, in lieu with the International Women’s Day, Atiqa Odho hosted a fun-filled women only event at Mona J Salon where members from the press and bloggers were present. During the event, Atiqa elaborated that her brand has been specifically designed for the Asian skin tone; which is why, all the shades of her lipsticks, eye shadows, face powders and blush-ons complement the Pakistani women of all ages.

At the event, Atiqa introduced her range of cosmetics and also revealed that she has named the shimmer pigments after jewels; the lipsticks are named after women and moods; the powders after food, eye shadows after flowers and blushes after birds. Sounds interesting, right?

Then there was a live makeup demo by renowned beautician Mona J who showed two makeup looks - day and night makeup - using Atiqa Odho Cosmetics. Mona created a soft yet vibrant day look and later on explained how the day makeup can be easily transformed into a dark and sultry night look through the use of different shades and building up.

This is not all! The products used in the demo were also passed on to the audience to give them a hands-on experience of the look and feel of the cosmetics.

On the occasion, Atiqa who champions women empowerment on all forums, said, “I launched Atiqa Odho Cosmetics with the aim to help women feel more beautiful and confident in their own skin.”

Wait there is more! After the demo the media and bloggers were presented with cosmetics’ giveaways, comprising a fun mix of all products that they can experiment with to create their favourite looks.

All you makeup lovers out there don’t forget to check out the complete makeup range available at various shops and even online. Atiqa also plans to take her lipstick range to 100, so just wait and watch!
