Hi Ed,

So, finally the Hackschool Project has ended! I don’t like it, and I didn’t want it to end so abruptly. The writer, very graciously, has invited us to ask her questions, and I have a couple: what happens to Leena? And, how successful was Jasir’s tutor? Please forward my questions to Iqra.

Hi Editor,

This week’s (Sept 4) Us was really cool. I loved ‘Hackschool Project 32: Result day, hacked’ by Iqra Asad. I have been following the Moin family since this amazing story started, and was sad to know that we will not be meeting the feisty siblings again. Ed, it does not feel right, the ending, I mean. I believe Iqra should tie the loose ends. Iqra, why is Arisha let off? She is so mean, and should really get a sock in the eye. I don’t think what she suffered was enough. Leena is a hardworking student, but what happens to her educational career is not clear. Please let us know the answers.

Hi Ed,

I really liked ‘What Pakistan means to me’ by Amna Ameer (Sept 4 issue). Her love for Pakistan shines out of the article and it made me think about the sacrifices made by the family members of the army personnel in terms of relationships to people and places. They are not allowed to grow roots and form lasting friendships. This must be so hard to bear! I grew up with the friends I made in grade 1, and went to college with some of them. Imagine changing school and friends every three years! But that is just one part of the hardships faced by army families. My heart goes out to those whose fathers, husbands, sons and brothers are martyred. Very good work, Amna. God bless Pakistan!

Hi Ed,

‘Chopping down the DNA by Saliha Hussain was an informative piece, but not very comprehensive. I guess the writer didn’t want it to be boring and I understand it. But, for those of us who love sciences, such articles are few and far between. Anyway, it was a nice explanation for layman.

Reflection

Narrated Ibn Abbas:

Allah’s Apostle asked Gabriel, “Why don’t you visit us more often than you do?” Then the following Holy Verse was revealed (in this respect):— “And we (angels) descend not but by the order of your Lord. To Him belong what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two and your Lord was never forgetful.”
