Chachi was a nonpareil and we are at a loss to express our loss. We will look into your suggestion, Rutaba....

Hi Editor,

I am a regular reader of your magazine. I really admire your work as the articles in the magazine are getting interesting day by day. But it is quite disappointing to write that I have sent you different articles several times but unfortunately you have never published them. Quite discouraging, it is. Can you please let me know the requirements that you require for publishing an article please, so that I can continue my work with zeal?

Keep up the good work.

Dear Team Us,

I hope this email finds you well in these difficult times. I know I haven’t been in touch for a while; life gets in the way sometimes. I recently came to know about Chachi Chatter’s demise, which has left me deeply hurt. Reading her columns in the magazine were the highlights of my Fridays, and I’m sad that the younger lot of readers won’t be able to read snippets from the incredible life she’d lived.

I was wondering if you could start republishing Chachi’s columns? Or redirect me to a link for the archive so that Chachi can always be a part of our lives? Hope one of these is possible.

Best,

Rutaba Tanvir

Reflection

Narrated Kharija bin Zaid bin Thabit (R.A):

Um Al-’Ala (R.A) an Ansari woman who had given a pledge of allegiance to Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) told me: “The Muhajirn (emigrants) were distributed amongst us by drawing lots, and we got ‘Uthman bin Maz’un (R.A) in our share. We made him stay with us in our house. Then he suffered from a disease which proved fatal. When he died and was given a bath and was shrouded in his clothes. Allah’s Apostle came, I said, (addressing the dead body), ‘O Aba As-Sa’ib! May Allah be Merciful to you! I testify that Allah has honored you.’ Allah’s Apostle said, ‘How do you know that Allah has honored him?” I replied, ‘Let my father be sacrificed for you, O Allah’s Apostle! On whom else shall Allah bestow. His honor?’ Allah’s Apostle said, ‘As for him, by Allah, death has come to him. By Allah, I wish him all good (from Allah). By Allah, in spite of the fact that I am Allah’s Apostle, I do not know what Allah will do to me.”, Um Al-’Ala added, “By Allah, I will never attest the righteousness of anybody after that.”
