There's so much romance
In standing up for something right,
When the entire city is in shut-eye
And loses the sympathetic ear
When truth becomes a lie
Lie a truth
Where intellect turns into a rare commodity
And integrity is compromised
Over what is popular
When hating someone becomes so easy
And loving so damn hard
Where expressing love
On a Certain Day gets labeled as crime
Where cigarettes hurt woman's character
And man's lungs only
When people say something
And mean something else
When political correctness becomes good taste
Reality an indiscretion
Where sending a friend request
Turns into a sexual assault
When selfies reveal on social media
The charity you've thrown away
When private life is confused
With public life
And divorces are sent via twitter.
Amidst all of that non-sense,
Standing up for something right
Has so much romance in it!
Poems forever
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

When Greed misunderstood Happiness on a casino table, Regret wasn't in the gamble
When Lust sick pet Love under sheer white sheets, Remorse didn't join the meats
When Liveliness was telling lame jokes in a road side cafe, Mad was the only stay
When instant pleasure won the prize, Trust got traumatised in dens of today's wise
Merry yelled in dismay within the glass walls of penthouse
Euphoria and The Hollow Man tossing champagne in crystal bouse
Passion is helpless and the smug Sceptical proud on stage
Envy engaged the calm in rage
Empathy mourning over the death of Peace
Pain numb moving in wheels
Sympathy horrified on empty streets and foolish jolly on cranky treats
Shame suffocated and terror upbeat
On such a planet
What if kindness wasn't a rare breed?
