Hey Ed,

The story “Breaking barriers in logistics” by Shermeen Zuberi was an amazing read. I like that Us magazine is educating readers about different fields. Logistics is definitely an unexplored territory for women; Aruna’s journey was really inspiring! Just like her, I never thought about logistics and transport as a career option either.

Kudos to SZABIST for offering formal education in logistics!

Hello Ed,

I am really happy that you people are publishing Poets’ Corner on a regular basis. But I have noticed the number of poems has declined; two or three poems are not enough. Also, I think the layout of the poetry section isn’t aesthetic. Please do something about it.

Can you also request some of your regular poets to mention their social media accounts so that we can share our feedback with them?

Salam Ed,

I have a request. Please hold story and poetry competitions this year. I am an ESL teacher and I want my students to participate. I personally feel these competitions are a great way to encourage students to become creative storytellers.

Salam Editor,

I would say the episodic story “Violet Vipers” by Sanniyah Eman is a brilliant story that portrays the struggles of Kashmiris. I am really worried for Jameelah and her cousin from Islamabad. I know Chacha jaan isn’t going to treat them well.

I am also happy that the story is published weekly; it’s easy to keep track of the plot.

Reflection

Narrated by Abdullah bin Al-Harith (R.A)

Once on a rainy muddy day, Ibn Abbas delivered a sermon in our presence and when the Mu’adhdhin pronounced the Adhan and said, “Haiya ala-s-sala(t) (come for the prayer)” Ibn Abbas ordered him to say “Pray at your homes.” The people began to look at each other (surprisingly). Ibn Abbas said. “It was done by one who was much better than I (i.e. the Prophet (S.A.W) or his Mu’adhdhin), and it is a license.”
