Hi Eddy,

The cover story ‘The anime timeline of Pakistan’ by Noveen Nauman (September 23) took me down memory lane. I remember the craze I had for Japanese anime and manga in my teenage; my mom always hated them and thought these cartoons were corrupting my mind. The intriguing storyline and the pure fantasy kept me glued to the TV, but the themes like friendship, teamwork and righteousness were the best part of it. And, I could exactly relate to it when the writer says the series ‘kept us on the edges of our seats’.

Though I don’t watch these anime series anymore, I enjoyed reading the cover story.

Dear Us team,

You guys are doing a great job. Every Friday, we get a chance to read superb articles. I would say Us magazine is playing a great role in enhancing the creativity and knowledge of our youth. When I read success stories of young entrepreneurs, collectors, philanthropists and artists in your magazine, it assures me that there is no dearth of talent in our country and we have a bright future ahead. Keep up the good work!

Dear Editor,

The idea of burning a wooden replica of London did not amaze me. I think there is no point in burning resources for the sake of artistic exuberance. Firstly, a lot of wood was wasted. Secondly, this burning released pollutants into the atmosphere. There could have been better eco-friendly ways to commemorate this ‘great’ London fire.

Sacrilege!

Aoa Editor,

I am quite an old reader of Us and I have to say it was great to see an article about anime after such a long time. However, one thing bothers me to no end: One Piece! Noveen, you forgot to mention One Piece! It is the BEST SELLING manga of all time and is ongoing. Looking forward to seeing more about anime/manga. Just don't forget One Piece.

Query

Hi Ed,

I am a freshman at a university in Pakistan. Well I evolved with your magazine. Yeah, it was fun during high school. I want to write for Us magazine. I can write different fun things about books, movies and lifestyle. All I need is an opportunity from my beloved magazine! If you say yes, I have written an article which will suit Us.

Aqeel Ahmad

We always welcome contributions from our readers, and will await your article eagerly. Since you are an old reader, you are probably aware that a one page article should be of 550 -650 words.

Dear Us team,

I am interested in writing  for the magazine. Is there any specific topic you would want me to  write on?

Alina

Surely you can write for Us. We can’t give you any specific topic, you can write on anything that is youth-oriented. You can cover college and university events or write career counselling articles for our on-campus issue. Also, if you have a penchant for stage plays, you can review them.

US MAILReflection

Narrated by Jundub (R.A)

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, "He who lets the people hear of his good deeds intentionally, to win their praise, Allah will let the people know his real intention (on the Day of Resurrection), and he who does good things in public to show off and win the praise of the people, Allah will disclose his real intention (and humiliate him).
