Dear Ed,

In the issue of 24 October, I loved Farah Tiwana’s article ‘Of fish markets and forgotten manners’. It perfectly captures the growing trend of inconveniencing others, whether in cafés, family gatherings, airport lounges or, worst of all, libraries. Loud conversations and inconsiderate behaviour have become the norm. People are totally unconcerned about how their noise invades others’ peace. What was once shameful is now seen as confidence. I think it is the responsibility of parents to inculcate values in their children but unfortunately most parents think their offspring are confident when they display rudeness in public. I just hope good sense prevails and people realise the importance of being considerate. We urgently need to relearn simple manners if we wish to live in a civil society again.

Hello Ed,

I love the section ‘Comic Relief’, but my only problem is that the page quality is so poor that I sometimes struggle to read the comic strip, which is quite frustrating. My solution has been to read the magazine online, although that saddens me, as I truly enjoy reading Us in print. Please improve the paper quality of the magazine.

Congratulations to Pakistan!

Dear Editor,

I feel truly honoured to congratulate the Men in Green on their remarkable four-wicket victory over South Africa in the third Twenty20 International that clinched the series for Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on 1 November.

After a tough start, losing the first match of the series by 55 runs, the hosts made a strong comeback, defeating the visitors by nine wickets in the second match and by four wickets in the thrilling final encounter. With these consecutive wins, Pakistan clinched the T20I series 2–1 in Lahore on Saturday night.

As a proud fan of Pakistan cricket, I deeply appreciate the entire team for their outstanding performance in the decisive match. Special credit goes to Babar Azam for his brilliant batting and to Shaheen Shah Afridi for leading a superb bowling attack.

This impressive performance by our team throughout the T20I series proved that they possess the talent to overcome any team. I now look forward to seeing the same spirit as they take on South Africa in the upcoming ODI series.
