I was disappointed to note that there hasn’t been a story in the last few issues of Us. If I am not mistaken, after The Eid Engagement and Other Weddings you have not published a single story. It would be nice to read new stories. I read the interview of Abbas Ashraf Khan (1 March) as I love reading interviews of celebs in the ‘Us Talk’ section. But I have noticed one thing: almost all the actors claim they have learned acting hands on. Guess we don’t need academies like National Academy of Performing Arts! Kidding! Ed, I like ‘Comic Relief’ and my favourite section of this segment is twitter Xwit.

I love ‘Poets’ Corner’ and I am happy to note that some new poets have also become a part of Us. Amna Ameer is a wonderful poet and I wait for her poems. I loved Backstage (23 February), but I haven’t seen another poem by her since it was published. In this week’s Us, I liked A new dawn by Rumaissa Chouhan and Ali Asghar Ghani’s Broken emotions. I would also like to praise Zahra Batool, MaH Noor, Tahreem Asghar and Mashaal Farid. More power to you all, guys!

Employment woes
Dear Editor,
I am a mechanical engineer. I graduated a year ago and since then I have been trying to get a job. I was hired by an organization for Rs30,000. The pay was a joke, but I took it. Unfortunately, the company encountered financial issues and as the newest recruit I was chucked out. Since then I have been looking for work and giving tuitions. I wanted to work for a year and save enough to do Master’s, but that’s not happening. Is there no future for young people without parchi? The new government should do something about employment issues if it cares about the people.
