Hi Ed,

I love reading, so the cover story Mind, heart, soul by Sameen Amer (16 February) caught my fancy. I make it a point to go to book fairs, and feel they are a great way to inculcate the love of reading in young people. The issue is that books are so expensive that buying them is not easy at all. Only if more lending libraries are made so people like me who cannot afford to buy expensive books can indulge ourselves with reading books without having to buy them! In this week’s issue, I enjoyed the travelogue Dubai – let’s go by FD. Sheikh. Good going, Us!

Dear Editor,

In the issue of 23 February, I read the article Targheeb by Muhammad Majid Shafi with interest. The writer is understandably proud of his accomplishment of doing hifz and wants to inspire others to do hifz also. I think religion is not only about hifz, and it is good deeds for people which Allah SWT wants. Us should publish articles to inspire young people to do good things in life, help whoever they can and become good citizens.

Cheating in exams – a serious issue

Dear Ed,

Cheating in examinations has become a prevalent issue in Turbat, significantly impacting the academic journey and future careers of students. As board exams draw near, some students resort to unethical practices, seeking assistance from private schools and engaging in widespread cheating.

The lack of intervention by teachers allows this issue to persist, hindering genuine learning and knowledge improvement. Cheating not only undermines the educational system but also jeopardizes the future prospects of students.

It is crucial to raise awareness and take immediate action to curb this serious problem. Advocating for ethical learning practices will contribute to a more positive academic environment and better prospects for the students.
