In last week’s edition of Us (16 June), I read the interview of my favourite singer, Haroon, with interest. Since Awaz lost its voice, Haroon has done really well and diversified a lot, Planet Champs being the case in point. I wish Haroon well on all his future endeavours.

The cover story Eid Engagement and Other Weddings seems to be drawing to a close. The 45th outing of Eid (23 June) was interesting because it was about a tiff between husband and wife, but there was this unnatural conversation between Hina and her mom, which left me a bit dazed. Please, Iqra, end our misery, and resolve the differences between Hina and Sameer, so you can start another brilliant novel.

I was waiting for the annual summer movies cover, but had to be satisfied with the very well-written review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (16 June). In the same issue, I enjoyed reading the interview of Haroon. Roots of the identity crisis by Asad Marwat was a damper, because it left me depressed; goras have gone but people here have still not realized how they created hatred that is still affecting us, not letting us become a nation in the true sense. Good edition, overall!
