Remember PSY? The guy who gave the world its most bizarre smash hit in ‘Gangnam Style’ back in 2012? Well, he’s back with another one of his wacky videos that is just as ridiculous and catchy as ‘Gangnam Style’.
The video, which features the 37-year-old pop singer as himself as well as his child and father, shows him doing creepy but energetic dance moves that will force you to shake a leg while simultaneously making you question your purpose on earth. The K-Pop video is fun, peppy and sounds very similar to Will.i.am’s ‘I Got It From My Mama’.
PSY’s earlier outing ‘Gentleman’ was not as popular as the singer’s breakthrough video ‘Gangnam Style’. While it managed to become the most viewed video online in a span of 24 hours, it was a fairly standard affair compared to its predecessor. And it seems it took PSY quite a bit of time to meet his benchmark. “There were many thoughts going around in my head, including thoughts like, ‘If I write like this, it would be not as good as ‘Gangnam Style,’ and ‘If I write like this, the international audience will not understand,’” he said at a press conference in Seoul, last week. “So it took me a very long time to organize all those thoughts into one.”
