NAPA International Performing Arts Festival called off

As corona virus persists and the number of people affected both in Pakistan as well as the world keep rising, almost all major activities taking place, as well as those expected to take place in the near future, around the globe have been postponed.

One of them is ongoing NAPA International Performing Arts Festival 2020 that commenced on March 5 but the proceedings have been stopped due to the pandemic.

“After considering all the directives from the Sindh and Federal government, it has been decided to cancel all further performances at the NAPA Performing Arts Festival 2020 effective 14 March 2020,” organizers noted in a press statement.

A post on their social media read, “Due to an outbreak of coronavirus in Pakistan, with a heavy heart we announce that NAPA International performing arts festival 2020 has been postponed. Refunds will be made to everyone who purchased the tickets within the coming days. Stay tuned and keep supporting NAPA.”

The festival was scheduled to run till March 22. Artists from Pakistan, Taiwan, England, Germany, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Italy had been rehearsing for their performances that have been halted - for now. Watch this space for announcements of new dates.
