Singer-songwriter and Pakistani music’s favourite export, Atif Aslam is constantly on the go and this year is no different. After starring as co-judge (alongside Fawad Khan, Meesha Shafi and Shahi Hasan) on the second coming of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, he has quickly moved on to other projects.

Aslam took the stage in Lahore earlier this month as part of a Lahore Qalandars event that was meant to send off sixteen young ’uns to a tour of Australia. The pop-star is also scheduled to take the stage in Qatar (Doha) next month and is also back with a new Bollywood ditty.

Having sung a track for Half Girlfriend (feat. Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor) and Hindi Medium (feat. Saba Qamar and Irrfan Khan) and Sweetie Weds NRI (feat. Sushant Singh Rajput), Aslam is back with another song and this time it belongs to the upcoming Irrfan Khan-Parvathy starrer Qarib Qarib Single. While Aslam has sung the track, which is titled ‘Jaane De’, it is penned by Raj Shekhar and composed by Vishal Mishra.

According to Hindustan Times, the song is meant to “essay the dilemma of commitment” while the film, directed by Tanuja Chandra, is touted as an unusual film that echoes the idea that “not every story has to have a perfect ending”. Whether or not it makes a mark upon release remains to be seen but in the meantime you can hum along to Atif Aslam whose vocals remain in top form. Those further curious about the pop star can head on over to his official YouTube page where you can find a track Aslam has sung in Bengali.
