Sabiha Sumar’s crowdfunding campaign for Azmaish nears completion

It has been in the news for some time now that award winning filmmaker Sabiha Sumar (of Khamosh Pani fame) is working on a cross-border documentary that has many people from both sides of the border excited. The documentary, titled Azmaish - Trails of Life, is about religious extremism that is faced by people in Pakistan and India.

It has been in the news for some time now that award winning filmmaker Sabiha Sumar (of Khamosh Pani fame) is working on a cross-border documentary that has many people from both sides of the border excited. The documentary, titled Azmaish - Trails of Life, is about religious extremism that is faced by people in Pakistan and India. Sumar travelled across India with actress Kalki Koechlin, who is also part of the documentary, to speak to locals regarding how their lives are affected by acts of terror committed in the name of religion.

However, what many people also know is that while Sumar has completed shooting for the film, she started a crowdfunding campaign on Wishberry to raise Rs.2 million for the post production phase of her film. Thankfully, many people from all over the world have been intrigued by Sumar’s upcoming film and have been donating generously to the cause.

So far, the film has raised over 1.5 million rupees where Sumar requires another 0.5 million rupees to complete the audio and visual editing and colour grading.

Upon completion, the documentary will be broadcast on German and French TV and will make its way to the festival circuit. Sumar also plans on showcasing the film in villages and small towns in both countries.
