If you miss Alicia Florrick’s poker face or the political maneuvering of Eli Gold or the towering figure of Peter Florrick, you’re not alone. And though some of these characters have said a permanent goodbye with the finale of the hit TV series called The Good Wife, others are definitely coming back with the spin-off series that has been named The Good Fight.
Created and produced by Good Wife duo Michelle and Robert King, who will return as showrunners/executive producers, the upcoming new series will see the return of Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), her husband Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole) and Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), who joined the series in its seventh season.
The synopsis of the show will be as follows: “The Good Fight picks up one year after the events of the final broadcast episode of The Good Wife. In the new series, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia (Rose Leslie) while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.”
Baranski, Cole and Jumbo will be joined by actors Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel and the show will make its official presence in February 2017.
