Tom Hardly, the breakout star of Chris Nolan’s mind-bending film Inception has some pretty interesting projects up his sleeve.

The Oscar-nominated actor, who has starred in films like The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant, is reuniting with Nolan for the third time with the upcoming war film Dunkirk, which comes out next summer. Aside from this film, he’s also gearing up to return to the world of television with a miniseries called Taboo after making a mark with the gangster drama, Peaky Blinders.

The show, co-created and executive produced by Hardy is set in 1814 and will contain a total of eight episodes. Following the story of James Keziah Delaney (Hardy) the synopsis is as follow: “A man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father’s shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father’s legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.”

The show is derived from an original story that was penned by Hardy and his father Chips Hardy, who is the consulting producer to the series. Directed by Kristoffer Nyholm, Taboo comes out in January 2017.

Hardy has also signed on to play British war photographer Don McCullin in an upcoming film, which is driven from McCullin’s autobiography, Unreasonable Behavior.
