Amongst a number of local film releases expected this year is Nabeel Qureshi’s Actor in Law, which was first announced in January at a press meet held in Karachi. The director, who shot to fame after the success of his debut venture Na Maloom Afraad, took to social media to confirm the release date of the film. “My new venture #actorinlaw #releasing #eidulazha2016 #satire,” he posted on Instagram along with the film’s first poster.
Actor in Law, which is being dubbed as a social comedy, has a strong list of actors working in its favour including none other than veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri.
Apart from Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in the lead, Alyy Khan has also joined the star cast in a never-seen-before avatar.
The internationally-acclaimed actor, who is currently doing a brilliant job as Aamina Sheikh’s cynical husband in Pakeeza, is said to be playing an antagonist in the film. Given the success of Na Maloom Afraad, expectations are high from the film and it remains to be seen if the team manages to break their own record.
