SHARJAH: Lahore Qalandars set a rather tough target of 165 for Peshawar Zalmi in the 15 th Twenty20 match of the first Pakistan Super League here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday night.
After being sent into bat by Peshawar Zalmi captain Shahid Afridi, Lahore Qalandars made a disastrous start as they lost Chris Gayle off the third ball of the very first over, leg before to Junaid Khan.
However, captain Azhar Ali along with Cameron Delport repaired the damage and took the score to 57 before he was dismissed by Darren Sammy for 25.
Then, Delport with Umar Akmal took the innings to the last over, adding 101 for the third wicket. Delport departed for a fine 78 just three balls earlier.
His 61-ball innings was laced with three sixes and six fours whereas Umar remained not out on 52, made off 31 balls with six boundaries as his team reached 164-3.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Junaid claimed two wickets for 32 and Sammy took one for 20.
