AMMAN: A suicide bomber drove his car into a police officers´ club in a residential quarter in central Damascus, blowing himself up and killing several others, a Syrian interior ministry statement said.
It said there were also a number of wounded in the blast in Masaken Barza, a middle class district.
Syrian state television earlier reported a blast in a busy market place in the area.
