The  top order batsman had scored 68 to help Pakistan reach 350-8 before he  was retired hurt after being struck by a Ben Stokes delivery.

According to Pakistan physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon, in that last session he was called off the field because he did not  feel comfortable while griping his bat and  was treated for pain.

He added that the management decided to do take him to hospital for precautionary X-ray at the end of the day where he was  confirmed that there was a fracture of the forearm, just above the wrist.

Physiotherapist tweeted that  "Normally with these sort of fractures (recovery) varies between four to six weeks."
