COLOMBO: The women cricket team of Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the T20I series with a spectacular 2-1 win on Saturday after making a clean sweep (3-0) in ODI series.
In the third and final T20I match, Pakistan won against Sri Lanka by 38 runs after the latter won the toss and elected to bat first.
However, the Sri Lankan girls could only make 75-8 chasing 114 runs.
Pakistan skipper Bisma Maroof managed to take two wickets for 14 runs while Sana Mir and Diana Baig captured one wicket each.
The match concluded with Javeria Khan emerging as the top scorer for Pakistan with 93 runs in three matches and Diana Baig was the top wicket taker.
On their staggering win Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi expressed his joy at Pakistan Women’s latest triumph in a recent tweet.
“Pak Womens Team beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in ODI and 2-1 in T-20! Congrats! Well played. Proud of you,” he wrote.
