KARACHI: Upon his arrival at the Jinnah International airport in Karachi, former West Indies cricketer and mentor of Quetta Gladiators, Vivian Richards, expressed immense delight on visiting the city of lights again.
Talking to the media, Vivian Richards said that he is happy to be in Karachi after a long time and grateful for the love that he has been receiving so far.
“I had a very good time the last time I was here, I think it was the world cup against Sri Lanka and I have got fond memories of that particular stadium and it’s great to be back in Karachi again,” he stated.
“I have always been pretty hopeful. I have always felt that there’s too much talent here in Pakistan itself, and it is going to be of vital importance, so long as cricket is played here on a regular basis, it will give your fans an opportunity for them to see the best Pakistani players…” Vivian added.
He also said that it would have been great to see his team Quetta Gladiators qualify for the finals but he performed his duty as mentor responsibly.
Vivian Richards stated that the West Indies’ tour of Pakistan to be held soon is a beacon of hope for cricket in Pakistan.
