The official inauguration ceremony of the BAPS Swaminarayan temple commenced via video conferencing from the Dubai Opera House where the members of Indian heritage populated in the UAE capital, attended Modi’s address.

President Modi expressed his enormous gratitude towards the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the construction of the grand temple.

The temple is reported to cover a total of 55,000 square meters of land and will be hand-carved by Indian temple artisans.

The first traditional Hindu stone temple will begin its construction after three months and will officially open its gates to people of all religious backgrounds in the year 2020.
