Dubai serves tea from the World's Biggest Tea Cup at Global Village
Dubai broke the world record by making the World's largest cup of hot tea at the Dubai Global Village.
138 chefs set to work at 9 am to prepare tea on 70 different cooking stations for the World's Largest Tea Cup.
With a height of 3.66 meters, and a diameter of 1.42 meters, the 'tea cup' was able to hold up to 5000 litres worth of hot tea in it.
This giant cup was filled with 155 kilograms of tea leaf powder, 270 kilograms of milk powder, 360 kilograms of sugar and other seasoning like ginger and cinnamon.
The tea used 5000 litres of water and was brewed for several hours before being served out to visitors of the Global Village to keep them warm in the cold weather.
A Guinness World Record representative declared the 'tea cup' as the largest one, surpassing previous record set last year in China which held 4050 litres of tea in it. The tea was ready for testing by 3 pm.
A heating coil was placed inside the cup to keep it hot and the cup's temperature was maintained at 80 degrees Celsius. Later, the tea was served to over 45,000 guests of the Global Village with an average serving of 100 ml per cup.
