Pakistan will take India to court over cricket series: PCB chairman

LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricket authorities have decided to take the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to court over the losses it has incurred due to latter’s refusal to play Pakistan.

Speaking to media, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shahryar Khan said Pakistan’s case is strong and it had no other option left other than approaching the ICC and court.

 “We have incurred losses of up to 100,000 dollars,” he said adding that PCB  would  first serve a notice to the BCCI and then go to ICC’s dispute resolution committee before moving the court.

He said the PCB would  approach court if the issue was not settled by the Inter-National Cricket Council (ICC).

“We will raise the issue of cricket series with India in ICC meeting too, which will take place in April. We had to play six series under the MoUs but there is no chance of Pakistan-India series”.

The PCB chairman said Pakistan would oppose the idea of keeping Big Three intact in the ICC meeting.

Khan said he had sent a letter with regard to his resignation to President Mamnoon Hussain and would not work in any capacity for the PCB from next year.

“ I want to call it a day due to personal and health reasons”.
