Andrew Garfield admits he is ‘addicted’ like most people are: Here's what he can't quit
Andrew Garfield also shares how he found his addiction a frustration
Andrew Garfield isn't shy about admitting he's addicted to social media.
But that is not all.
He has a secret Instagram account. That will surely catch Spider-Man fans' attention.
And what's relatable is the actor describing his shocking screen time.
Though he didn't reveal how many hours, Garfield nonetheless said in an interview with Variety that he's been frustrated by it.
“I’m as addicted as anybody. My screen time notifications are horrific to me. It’s like, I’ve given all of those hours to nothing,” he said.
Garfield did not stop there; he was vexed by how the very design of social media that hooks users onto their platform is what he said is "pretty dark."
“It’s genuinely enraging because we don’t have as much control over these impulses as we should, and it’s been by design. It’s pretty dark when you look at it.”
Often on social media platforms, there are rabbit holes where a user is sucked in for hours without realizing how much time went by.
For the Academy-nominated actor, there are “weird ceramics and lots of Japanese kind of craftspeople.”
Garfield's criticism is somehow relevant to the theme of his film The Magic Faraway Tree in theatres now.
