Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s biggest failing in Hollywood comes out: It’s not failed projects
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle now stand as Hollywood’s most dwindling sources ever and here’s why
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life since Megxit has seen lots of twists, turns and speedbumps. So much so that many critics and commentators are pointing out the dangers of such a continued practice.
The most recent expert to point this out is royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, the host of YouTube's Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered.
She spoke about this with Fox News Digital and shared her point of view rather candidly.
The topic began with her pointing out the difference in the Sussexes’ star power, compared to other stars and in an effort to explain it, she said, “Harry and Meghan are a fascinating case study in the difference between attention and commercial influence.”
Because ‘infamy’ as she calls it, “can be extremely valuable to newspapers, television shows and social media platforms” because “people will click, argue and engage. Monetizing that attention yourself is a completely different challenge.”
Another thing she put forward is the simple fact that “people want to consume content about Harry and Meghan but are they equally interested in consuming content from Harry and Meghan?”
The reason she posed this as a question during her chat with the outlet is because “when Harry and Meghan first arrived in California, they were the story. Hollywood was essentially buying access to two people who had just walked away from the royal family, and the curiosity surrounding them was enormous. Six years later, the novelty has diminished. The questions are much more conventional now: What can you produce? What can you sell? Can you build an audience around something that isn’t royal drama?”
A bit later into the chat she also highlighted on aspect where the couple greatly fail and said, “Hollywood is full of projects that die in development, so, individually, none of those are necessarily remarkable. But when you establish a pattern of big announcements without finished products, you risk damaging your credibility.”
Her concluding remarks also echoed a similar sentiment and saw her being quoted as saying, “you cannot build a serious production reputation on press releases and announcements. When a project does reach audiences, its performance becomes part of the résumé.”
