National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts that states along the US-Canadian could have a favorable condition to witness auroral observation on Sunday night including:

The lights might also be spotted from most of Alaska with much of the state’s interior depicted with a high probability in NOAA’s forecast.

To catch the best view, experts at NOAA recommend viewers to travel as far as possible and take up an elevated position such as a hill with a clear view of the sky.

According to the NOAA forecast, the lights are more active in the hours just before and after midnight, so audience members are welcome to observe the night sky between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Stargazers can also use smartphones and take high-quality images of the northern lights by making proper camera settings.

Furthermore, photographers make sure to pack a tripod and a remote time for their devices; turn off the flash, enabling night mode to capture the best view of the aurora borealis.
