King Charles reconciliation with Prince Harry will make 'monarchy stronger'
Prince William also believes in ‘protecting it by drawing hard lines’
A royal expert believes that King Charles reconciliation with his estranged son Prince Harry will make the institution ‘stronger’.
Speaking to the Fox News Digital, royal expert Helena Chard says, "Don't get me wrong, reconciliation within the British royal family would be good as it makes the monarchy stronger.”
However, reacting to the reports, Prince Harry was invited to palace, and he has also accepted King Charles offer to live there when he return to UK in September, the royal expert said, “Why invite Harry to Buckingham Palace, the iconic royal residence that's the administrative heart of the monarchy?”
“Harry is no longer a working royal and shouldn't be offered a room at Buckingham Palace," she said.
The royal expert added, "I guess the optics of inviting Harry to Buckingham Palace are seen as a goodwill gesture, easing tensions with small steps forward, peace-wise.”
Chard said, "It also skates over the endless divide within the family."
Previously, she also told the publication that Prince William is known for being stubborn behind palace doors and “isn't one to forgive easily.”
The Prince of Wales believes the monarchy must be seen to do the right thing, even “when it's painful”, he had said, adding “From what I understand, he felt his father didn't handle that firmly enough.”
Prince William also believes in ‘protecting it by drawing hard lines’, the royal expert continued. “But he's not the king yet."
