Time traveler who predicted Argentina vs Spain final found alive

The person behind X (Twitter) account @actuallyimthe (display name display name "dilemma"), who predicted the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in a 2021 tweet, shared their first post in more six months after their prediction partly came true, with both Argentina and Spain qualifying for the final.

The tweet posted by, @actuallyimthe, on July 11, 2021, predicted that Argentina would beat Spain 3-2 in the 2026 World Cup final.

It gained global attention after Spain advanced to final by beating France in the semifinals, with many social media users calling the person behind the prediction a” time traveler”.

Argentina also reached the final on Wednesday after defeating England in their semifinal, setting up the exact matchup predicted five years earlier.

The user, who had lasted tweeted on December 12, 2025, returned by replying their viral tweet with only a time watching emoji.

Their reply sparked interesting reactions from users, with one user expressing relief writing they hoped “the guy that made this tweet is still alive.”

Interestingly, the user also shared a screenshot of another earlier prediction. The account Isaiah (@fcbfootballblog) tweeted on July 3, 2019: “39-year-old Messi to lift his second consecutive Cup in 2026 you heard it here first.”

However, it was not specific as the viral tweet which predicted the finalists.

It remains to be seen whether the full prediction, Argentina beating Spain 3-2 comes true.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026.
