Inside story of Erling Haaland's $750 raccoon
Erling Halland and his teammates visited a store located near hotel in the US last month
Erling Haaland's has returned home after Norway's journey in the ongoing FIFA World Cup ended.
The player was filmed disembarking from a plane upon his arrival in Norway on July 13.
The football star was carrying something in his hand which drew instant reactions from fans from across the world.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Erlin Haaland was carrying a taxidermy raccoon holding an empty bottle of booze.
They quickly identified Wild Bill’s Western Store in Dallas as the origin of Haaland’s prize.
The Washington Post has revealed the inside story of how the footballer got his hands on the souvenir.
“We’ve sold very few just because they’re about 750 bucks,” the outlet quoted Julie Newport, the store’s co-owner, as saying.
According to the report, she got a call in June that “someone from the Norwegian team” would be stopping in; the store was near the hotel where the Nordic players were staying.“
When the players arrived on June 30, “I had my team lock the doors, and we basically gave them run of the store for an hour and a half,” Newport said. They drank bourbon, and, “We taught them how to line dance,” she said.
Unfortunately for those who’d like to pick up the same statue, Newport said they’re sold out, and “The artisan who makes these taxidermy pieces just retired,” she said. “We’ve got to find a vendor.”
