Anthropic to release Mythos AI publicly on June 9: Reports

Since its release, Anthropic’s Mythos AI has been in headlines due to its unprecedented capabilities to find critical vulnerabilities in every kind of web browsers and software systems.

Given its powerful capabilities, financial institutions CEOs, IMF, and financial experts have raised the concerns as the Claude Mythos Preview could bring the worst nightmare to the cybersecurity landscape.

As a result, Anthropic unveiled Project Glasswing, designing to release Mythos AI to selective tech companies, banks, and other organizations to contain its potential risks.

Now the reports are widely circulating on X that Anthropic is reportedly releasing the public version of its powerful Mythos on June 9.

Reports citing sources like Alex Heath suggest a public release is planned. Taking to X, Health posted, “Anthropic is planning to release a public version of Mythos tomorrow.”

According to Heath, the public version will be dramatically better at long-run horizon and multi-run tasks. The public-version Mythos will have “substantial guardrails and not be as cyber permissive as what Project Glasswing partners can access.”

Another source named Coined Bureau revealed on X that Anthropic will release the version of its Claude 5 AI model, Mythos, under the name “Claude Fable” on June 9.

Reports point to a major update from the team behind Claude. This follows intense speculation and a Polymarket showing 92% odds for a June launch.

Polymarket indicates a 98 percent probability of the Mythos model releasing by June 30, 2026.

Confidence has surged, with the probability of a release by June 15 jumping to 92 percent.

The timing is significant as the reports come days after Anthropic issued urgent calls for slowing AI development due to rapid self-improvement risks.

The reports met with mixed responses from tech savvy users and tech experts on social media platforms. One user wrote, “Anthropic keeps shipping, and the bar keeps moving. Mythos is going to be a serious one to watch!”

Another one commented, “I think "Mythos" model they're gonna give to the public will be very restrictive and won't live up to the hype that has been created so far....”

“This is gonna be the most underwhelming shit we have ever witnessed,” the third one wrote. 

However, no official remarks or announcements have come from Anthropic.
