Why Nicole Kidman avoided Hugh Jackman, Sutton Foster at Met Gala

Nicole Kidman completely avoided speaking with Hugh Jackman and his new girlfriend, Sutton Foster, at the 2026 Met Gala.

On Thursday, an insider spilled to Naughty But Nice that the 58-year-old actress intentionally kept her distance from the new couple out of loyalty to Hugh's ex-wife, Deborra Lee-Furness.

“Nicole is firmly Team Deb,” the insider said. “She believes Deb was deeply hurt by how everything unfolded, and Nicole isn’t interested in pretending otherwise just because Hugh showed up with a new woman on his arm.”

The source continued, “Deb’s ‘betrayal’ comment was not forgotten in Hollywood. A lot of people close to her feel Hugh did her wrong, and Nicole is one of the friends who has stayed incredibly protective.”

 “She didn’t want drama. But she also wasn’t going to play happy families for the cameras," added the confidant.

For those unversed, Hugh and Deborra parted ways in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage.

"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage," they wrote in a joint statement shared on Instagram.

"Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," they added.
