Kim Kardashian returns to 2026 Met Gala in unique metallic look
Kim Kardashian wears custom-made metallic outfit for her 13th appearance at Met Gala
Kim Kardashian returned to this year’s Met Gala in a unique metallic look.
The biggest event in the fashion world saw the 45-year-old American media personality and socialite in a sculpted bronze high-neck breastplate with a hand-painted leather color-block skirt, which was open in the front.
She kept her look extremely minimal and opted for nude pumps. She let her blonde, wavy hair untied with a middle parting.
Notably, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who is the girlfriend of Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, wore the outfit created by artist Allen Jones, designers Whitaker Malem (Patrick Whitaker and Keir Malem) and creative director Nadia Lee Cohen.
While giving an interview to Vogue, Kardashian stated that she was working with the designers for her 2026 Met Gala outfit, saying, "This is an artist, one of my favorite artists, Allen Jones.”
She also told the outlet the look was designed using a mould of a model taken in the 1960s.
Whitaker Malem collaborated with Jones to cast a mould in order to create the unique breastplate with the attached leather skirt, according to the press release.
It is important to mention that Kim Kardashian’s look had the sculpted part, which is an homage to Jones' works from the pop art movement, especially his Body Armour from 1978, which he created for an unreleased film. In 2013, Kate Moss wore his art piece to pay tribute to his contribution to the fashion world.
